Dr. Keith Fernandez
President and Physician-in-Chief, Memorial Hermann Physician Network
Born in Spokane, Washington, Dr. Keith Fernandez attended Florida State University and the University of South Florida before receiving his medical doctorate from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Ebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his residency in internal medicine at David Grant Medical Center, affiliated with the University of California at Davis, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology. In addition to caring for his patients, Dr. Fernandez serves as President and Physician-in-Chief of MHMD, the Memorial Hermann Physician Network. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer of the Memorial Hermann Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and chairman of MHMD’s Clinical Programs Committee, which provides governance for quality, safety and cost effectiveness for the organization. He also has helped lead Memorial Hermann’s efforts to adopt computerized provider order entry at all of its hospitals as a means of standardizing and streamlining the delivery of quality care. Dr. Fernandez is a member of local, state and national medical societies. Dr. Fernandez is married with one child and enjoys sailing when his schedule allows.
