Elizabeth Teisberg, PhD, Meng, MS is the author of Redefining Health Care: Creating Value-Based Competition on Results. Co-written with Harvard’s Professor Michael E. Porter, this book has generated strong international interest in innovation that restructures health care delivery to improve results for patients, increase professional satisfaction for clinicians and reduce costs. Professor Teisberg joined TDC after serving as a professor of business at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business for 15 years and a strategy professor at the Harvard Business school for 8 years. Her expertise is in Strategy and Innovation, particularly in health care delivery. Since publication of Redefining Health Care, Professor Teisberg has worked with numerous organizations on implementation of the principles of value-based health care delivery in practice. Professor Teisberg speaks, works, and teaches internationally on innovation for dramatic improvement in health care value. She has developed frameworks, cases, and articles to enable the teaching and implementation of health care delivery transformation. Her current work is addressing redefinition of care for people with chronic health conditions.
